First off why buy Oak Furniture? Up until recently the fashion for TV cabinets was for them to be made from Glass or some form of plastic.

The current fashion seems to prefer a more traditional material. Oak wood has been used in furniture making for many years so it fits the bill.

There are a number of reasons

1. It doesn't chip easily
2. Easy to maintain
3. As it ages it looks bettter
4. It never goes out of fashion

When buying an Oak TV Cabinet you want it too last so make sure your buying Solid Oak and not an Oak Veneer. Also make sure that the retailer clearly states 100% solid oak, if in doubt buy something else!
